    Default Help needed!

    Muy buenos dias folks!

I'm upgrading my PC for next month and i'm in need of some hardware buffs, if there are any around here.

If you think you're up to the challenge of helping me choose between X and Y, please feel free to post a reply.

Will post specs and questions IF there are good samaritans willing to lend me a hand.

    Much obliged and with respect,
    Shobi

Moved this post to the Bar so more Renegades can see it.
I'm sure the techies will chime in with opinions if you can attract their attention ^^
(I can give some semi-informed layman opinions too)

    How's this? Any thoughts?

Also, is a 144Hz monitor worth it?

Big fat GPU, best your budget allows!
i7 CPU, i5 just fine, that's the bit that dun matter that much nowadays.
RAM as much and as quick you have moolah for, that'll never backfire!
OH YEA: SSD boot volume at least. If all drive SSD you gold!

    ...Right!

Alcohol and internets don't mix well it seems.

    Fixed the link.

I still need some advice regarding that 144Hz monitor.

It's a bit rich for me to have experience with :P
My low def eyes don't need hi def resolutions ^^

It's the least important component imho and something you can pick up at any time if you have an older one lying around.
If you're using it all the damn time though I can understand splurging a bit, so I have no idea what benefits it actually gives (I can barely register the difference with HD stuff :P)

Other than that I'm with Gun.
i5 is great unless you're doing a LOT of high end stuff (rendering) if you want to future proof, getting the best GPU is definitely the best investment, though I'd balance that with cost. Again, if you're not constantly rendering video etc you don't actually need the top tier stuff to run every modern game on ultra. (I got a GTX980 before xmas and it'll be crushing my needs for another year or two before I need to think about lowering settings :P)
8GB of RAM is sufficient for gaming (I don't think anything uses more) but if you do any real computing work on it, more is welcome. Again, you can future proof by grabbing more too, but I tend to cut costs EVERYWHERE I can... I'm too much a jew.
Good choice on the PSU too. I cheaped out a bit and I really should have put down a little more for a decent modular unit ><

    Gut gut.

I may decide to go with the cheaper i5 6500, then i'll scrap the cpu cooler, should be able to save a hundred right there. Seeing as how i won't be overclocking....
I'm basically looking for an entry-level high end, cool, quiet and stable gaming rig that will do it's job for at least 3-4 years from now.

If i'm lucky enough to catch some parts on sale i might even go with the 1070. Who knows?
