Mooar. Too bad they still use the crappy radio commands.

Am rented, but since I'm in the middle of moving in with my g/f I don't have that much time.

I've got it and while there's not much too it content wise, it's impressive as fuck. System demands akin to previous game, graphics much nicer. Plays better too, with better animations.

Very much so. A lot of the core issues with Arma 2 have been addressed very early on. Things like character movement being awful, lack of physics and ragdolls etc, that was fundamental to Arma 2 looking and feeling old, even if the system requirements for it have always been relatively brutal. This means that modders have less work to do and their work will not be hampered by fundamental failings of the game.

The only problem so far, and it's a biggie, is the stupidity of the approach BIS have taken with the setting. Nobody asked for Science Fiction. Nobody wants science fiction. Everybody wanted a contemporary military simulator. It's properly stupid to go off and make up a bunch of fictional vehicles and weapons and so on and you have to wonder if they persist with it if any of the content they ever release for the game will be of any value to the majority of players whatsoever.

Modders to the rescue, of course, but really I can't think of anything about this that BIS could have done worse.

Sci-fi as in too modern/near future or just made up fantasy gear? In the case of the former it could be that they're trying to be like COD (bad). If it's the latter it could just be a case of licensing. Maybe they can't afford to pay to use real gear. It's worrying. The stark, almost ugly, realism is one of the beautiful things with the game.

It's a bit of both, it's set in 2035 or something. It's all recognisably modern but, well, meh.

The only reason I still have a TrackIR (even upgraded from 3 to 4 last year for this game).
