I converted to ESDF many years ago as I was playing the Quake2 mod Gloom which was a very dark game, so I tended to play it in darkness. Having my movement keys at the natural typing position was really useful as it ensured I could always find the F key.

Also you gain 2 additional pinky key binds (A, Z) using ESDF which I have bound weapon keys to in FPS games and spells to in World of Warcraft.

I always use WAD. W for forward and A, D for turning. I also always click my skills with my mouse...

I do not have skills, so I resort to only WAS.

well it all depends on how big the table is.
i use wasd because the mouse it too close the arrow keys, and with wasd i can have my arm in a natural position.

if you shift your keys right you need to move the keybord left. but i can't do that because there are piles of litter arround a small area for keybord and mouse.

btw. seraph who played tf2 with us back in the day uses esdf, with a weird mod. he uses d to move forward and e to move backwards.

I tried converting to esdf recently, I think it would help significantly with my tiny hands :P
All in all I'm too used to wasd though. It doesn't help that my preferred modifier is alt (which I know is disgusting, but my hand placement is genuinely retarded, and I constantly have to move between "typing" and "playing") which is 100% unusable with esdf.
I reckon if I convert to shift modifying first, it'll help my hand position so I can convert to esdf later. (yup, lots of thought goes into this, its one of my favourite scummers discussions, comparing hotkey layouts and such... NEEEEERD ^^)

I hear that Hincey has every key on his keyboard bound to "/follow" tbh.
